Founded in 2023 by Gianluca and Seyj, Domu was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to bring a fresh, modern approach to catering in Kent and beyond. After years working in London’s dynamic food scene, we noticed something missing back home—a catering experience that reflects today’s evolving tastes and culinary standards. So, we set out to change that.
And here we are.
Domu means “home” in Sardinian. It’s where warmth, authenticity, and hospitality begin—and that’s exactly what we bring to every event we cater.
Our Story: A Shared Passion for Great Food
We’re Gianluca and Seyj—two people with one shared mission: to create the best food and service possible.
Gianluca was born and raised in Sardinia, where his earliest and fondest memories revolve around food. It was in his grandmother’s kitchen that he first discovered his passion for cooking—one that would take him around the world, honing his craft in some of the finest kitchens. With extensive experience as a chef and a deep understanding of the art of hospitality, Gianluca’s expertise ensures that every Domu menu is crafted with precision, creativity, and care.
Seyj grew up surrounded by the vibrant flavours and traditions of Indian cooking. Her curiosity for new ingredients and culinary styles eventually led her into the kitchen professionally. After years as a chef, and later working front of house, she developed a unique perspective on how to create seamless dining experiences. Today, she brings her project management skills to Domu, ensuring every event runs flawlessly from planning to execution.
We come from different backgrounds and cultures, but our shared love of food and hospitality is the heartbeat of Domu Catering.
How We’ve Grown (And Where We’re Going)
Domu Catering started with just the two of us, a handful of clients, and a big vision. Our early days were spent catering weddings and intimate gatherings—buffets, sit-down meals, and everything in between. Each event was an opportunity to learn, to listen, and to evolve.
What we knew when we started is not what we know today. And that’s something we’re proud of.
In just two years, we’ve grown into a catering company known for our attention to detail, personal touch, and ability to create unforgettable dining experiences. But we’re not stopping here.
